Our parish is lucky to have many varied sports and social clubs which are an integral part of our strong community. Take a look below at some of these clubs, you may discover a brand new hobby or enjoy having a go at something new. If you run a club or association in the parish and it isn’t listed here, please let us know. Community

Hodge Lea Community Lunch Club (WGTC)

Carol and Marylin run a lunch club for everyone in the community on Thursdays from 11:00-15:00 at Hodge Lea Meeting Place, MK12 6JU.

Join them for a safe, warm and welcoming space with free food, drink and activities.

Stacey Bushes Community Tea-Time Club (WGTC)

Join Carol and Marylin at Stacey Bushes Meeting Place, MK12 6HX on Mondays from 15:30-18:00.

They run a tea-time club open to everyone which offers free food and drink as well as activities.

Wolverton Senior Citizens’ Coffee Club

We meet on Thursdays from 10:00-11:30 at Wolverton Sports Club on Osborne Street. Everyone is welcome.

Service Organisations

Wolverton and Stony Stratford Rotary

Wolverton and Stony Stratford Rotary Club – a friendly group of like-minded people supporting local, national and international communities and good causes. We meet at the Cock Hotel in Stony Stratford on Tuesdays at 18:15, except when the preceding day is a Bank Holiday.

Inner Wheel

We meet once a month at: The Roman Park Club, Blue Bridge, MK13 ORA on the second Monday of the month at 18:30. We enjoy a meal together, followed by a guest speaker, or other entertainment.

Our aim is to foster fellowship, friendship, and service locally, nationally and internationally, the main focus being locally. If you would like to find out more, please visit the Inner Wheel website.

St John Ambulance

For children aged 5 to 11 years old. Badgers take part in a wide range of fun activities based on essential first aid and other fascinating topics, earning badges and certificates for each one, working towards their Super Badger Award. We currently have plenty of space for Badgers and you can join at the St John Ambulance website.

Sports

Wolverton Sports Club

We are a family oriented private members sports club that has been in the heart of Wolverton for over 125 years.

The clubhouse and bar are open all year round for our members to watch Sky and BT Sports fixtures and hosts indoor games such as darts, pool and short mat indoor bowls.

Wolverton Town Cricket Club

We are a friendly, sociable and inclusive cricket club! We are always looking for players of all standards; we run three Saturday teams and one Sunday team as well as juniors.

Wolverton Tennis Club

Wolverton Tennis Club was formed in 1903 and is based on Osborne Street. New members are always welcome and the club operates an ‘open door’ policy. You can read the latest goings on in the WGTC Community Magazine.

Wolverton Town Bowls Club

Wolverton Town Bowls Club hosts a warm and friendly atmosphere for all to join in with a game of bowls. The club is located on Cambridge Street, Wolverton.

Wolverton Park Bowls Club

Wolverton Park Bowls Club is the oldest club in Buckinghamshire, established in 1889. The club has a rich history, friendly atmosphere and something to offer people of all ages and walks of life. New members are welcome.

MK Breakers Basketball Sessions

The Arts and Music

Wolverton Gilbert and Sullivan Society

This lively group has been together for over 40 years and is always open to new members to either perform on stage or to help backstage or front of house.

We have a very busy and active time each year; in spring we always stage a G&S Operetta and we have summer shows and concerts. We also have a lively social calendar, ending the season each year with a barbecue.

Wolverton Town Band

The Wolverton Town Band is based in Wolverton and is the oldest brass band in the area! We play at lots of community events and functions around the parish, please get in touch if you’d like us to play at your event!

Each year the band proudly performs alongside Harmonie Royale les vrais amis de Ploegsteert, the brass band of Wolverton’s twinned town Ploegsteert.

Wolverton Light Orchestra

The Wolverton Light Orchestra provides an opportunity for musicians to play light and popular music.

We aim to perform three or four concerts a year, including a sell-out Christmas concert at Stantonbury Campus Theatre.

The orchestra has quite a history that can be traced back to nearly 100 years. A particular objective of the orchestra is to raise money for local and national charities.

History

The Western Front Association

The Milton Keynes branch of the Western Front Association (WFA) hold their monthly meetings at Wolverton Working Men’s Social Club at 49-50 Stratford Road, Wolverton, MK12 5LS. Meetings are usually the third Friday of the month, 19:30-21:30. A donation covers costs and entry to a raffle. Refreshments are available at the bar. WFA members and members of the public are always very welcome.
